A nimble-footed ball of skill and energy with a thunderous shot, the attacker is the talisman of the lesser-known Arsenal of South Argentina, yet with each impressive performance he plants himself more firmly on the radar of clubs in Europe, Premier-League based Arsenal included. A cultured passer of the ball with a phenomenal workrate and a good free-kick, the diminutive star has come on in leaps and bounds since first appearing for the club in 2005. Is his early sign of talent evidence of a superstar in the making? Time is sure to tell. Right now he is typical South American attacking players- small, quick, skillful, yet there are so many like that who fail to make the grade. At this moment in time, a move to a team with more accomplished players surrounding him would help him immensely, not only to test him, but aid him in his development. A promising player who has already shown signs of real class.
In 2007 Gomez represented the victorious Argentina U-20's at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, and also appeared for them earlier that year at the 2007 South American Youth Championships in Paraguay. He is yet to make his full senior debut.
