Personality: Tommy Spurr is said to be a very determined player who is just a rigid old fashion defender that loves being in the air and sliding into challenges.
Position: I think Spurr plays best as a left back but he is just as good at centre back, as he is a good long thrower, passer and have good technique I personally think he is better off at left back where he can make good decision as he is excellent at decision making.
Strengths: I believe Spurr is very dominant in the air and very good at slide tackling and stand tackling but most of all his determination is what leads him to win those tackles. Spurr has great stamina and strength.
Weaknesses: Spurr is a player who has no real weaknesses especially in his position; he often looks for the pass rather than a shoot as he is poor at finishing.
Current Ability: I think Spurr is the strongest defender in the Sheffield Wednesday squad by some distance; he should also be at a higher level than where he is he needs a bigger club.
Potential Ability: I believe that Spurr will improve in the future and I think soon he would be a decent signing for most average sides in the top leagues.
Recommendation: As Sheffield Wednesday got relegated from the Championship to Division 1 I think this is a great chance for Tommy Spurr to leave the club and a top Championship team should buy him or a UEFA Cup team should consider buying him as he is a great player who has a lot to give and he is young and still improving, so I suggest teams should buy Tommy Spurr for a fee of £3-2.5 million.
