A product of the Barcelona academy, the skillful Spaniard has followed in the footsteps of Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida in moving to England, and it's not hard to see why Liverpool pounced. A pure footballing brain allied with skill and creativity is a rare mix in a talent so young, yet Pacheco seems to possess all of these. Preferring to drop deep and play in 'the hole' it is here that he is most effective- his technical ability in his dribbling and an eye for the killer pass, coupled with an accurate shot and rapid accelaration results in the diminutive player chalking up impressive statistics for both goals and assists. Likened to a young Pablo Aimar, Benitez's "desequilibrante" player at Valencia (literally a player who destabilises the opposition), the talented starlet faces a test to see whether he can handle the rough and tumble of the premiership and use his attributes to their full potential, but certainly he is one of the stand-out players in Rafa Benitez's youth revolution at Anfield.
Pacheco is a member of the Spanish U-17 squad, most notably scoring a hatrick against San Marino in 2007. He is also a regular scorer for the Liverpool reserves, and in his first season helped them win the reserve league.
